HI, I'M MELISSA

Counsellor | EMDR Therapist | Yoga Instructor

I am a counsellor and yoga instructor who is passionate about helping individuals navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity, resilience, and self-understanding. I believe that meaningful change begins with awareness, and that therapy can provide the space to explore your experiences with honesty, compassion, and curiosity.

My approach to counselling and psychotherapy is collaborative and client-centered. Together we work to better understand the patterns, thoughts, and emotions that may be contributing to stress or feeling stuck, while developing practical tools that support lasting change.

I draw from evidence-based approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I also integrate mindfulness and body-based practices to support emotional regulation and mind–body balance.

Starting counselling can sometimes feel difficult or even intimidating. My goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where you feel heard, respected, and comfortable moving at a pace that feels right for you.

I look forward to connecting with you and learning more about what you hope to gain from your counselling experience.

My Approach

My Approach to Counselling

I believe counselling works best when it is collaborative, supportive, and grounded in practical tools that can be applied in everyday life. My role is to create a safe and respectful space where you can explore your experiences openly while developing greater insight and emotional resilience.

I draw from evidence-based approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and EMDR. I also integrate mindfulness and body-based practices to support nervous system regulation and mind–body awareness.

Each counselling experience is tailored to the individual. Together we work toward meaningful and sustainable change that aligns with your personal values and goals.

Who I Work With

I work with individuals who may be experiencing:

  • Anxiety and chronic stress

  • Trauma and difficult life experiences

  • Life transitions and personal growth challenges

  • Burnout or emotional overwhelm

  • A desire for greater self-awareness and emotional balance

My goal is to support individuals in building resilience, gaining clarity, and developing practical tools that help them move forward with confidence.

What You Can Expect

Beginning counselling can feel like a significant step, and it is natural to feel uncertain at first. Sessions are conversational and collaborative, with space for you to share as much or as little as feels comfortable.

Together we will explore your goals, identify patterns that may be contributing to stress or challenges, and develop strategies that support meaningful change. My intention is to create an environment where you feel supported, understood, and empowered throughout the process

Outside of My Practice

Outside of my counselling work, I enjoy spending time in nature, practicing yoga, and continuing to explore approaches that support wellbeing and personal growth. These experiences help inform the holistic perspective I bring into my work with clients.
